Fences, Gates and Block Walls
Walls and fences will eventually need repair and possibly a coating of paint sometime in its life. Also the gates that go through them will need some repair and coatings eventually too.
Wall, fences and gates come in a variety of materials these days. Here’s a quick list of some of them…
Cinder block and slump stone walls (normally 8″x 8″x 16″ block) Cedar fences / gates (normally 6″ x 6 foot board – ‘dog eared’) Redwood fences / gates (normally tongue and groove) Wrought iron fences and gates (variety of styles and options) Combination’s of cinder block and wrought iron or wood Recycled materials for fencing (variety of textures) Horizontal planking fences Light weight cement fence / walls (variety of textures)
In regard to building or repairing a wall or fence…the typical homeowner can do some of the building or repairs on the wooden style of fences. When it comes to a block wall or wrought iron style fencing, there is a lot more entailed to the repair or building of these styles. For one…wrought iron repair, you may need welding apparatus. For the cement block wall, you may need concrete tooling.
